VOCALOID voice library pronounce according to the “phonetic symbols” of each language(Japanese, English, Korean, Spanish, Chinese).
For example, even though the Japanese library “あ” is expressed in the phonetic symbol [a], it doesn’t exist in the English library, and so “a” is expressed in [V] that has similar sound of “a”.
Therefore, when you switch to VOCALOID voice library of the different language without changing the lyrics, the lyrics aren’t pronounced correctly and in most situation, there is no sound.
In this case, enter the lyrics again.
You can reconvert easily without re-entering them only in the case below.
- Japanese library → English library
- The chorus track etc.; the lyrics consist of the note “あー”, “らー” etc.
- The lyrics are entered in half width alphabet; “a”, “ra”
- Select all notes at the menu [Edit]-[Select all].
- Open the lyric pallet by double clicking one of the notes.
- Push the space key while pushing Control key(Win)/Option key(Mac).
- The phonetic symbols are reconverted, and push [OK] button to confirm.
You can convert the lyrics which can translate into English, not only “a” “ra” but olso “ha” “wa” etc., to similar phonetic symbols.
The conversion is based on English dictionary, therefore “i” convert to [ai] and “u” convert to [ju:].
